Specialty Flavors
I have been experimenting with new recipes.
First up is the “Berry Me Lemon” cake
A lemon cake with 2 layers of lemon meringue filling and 1
layer of raspberry filling. Topped with lemon infused cream cheese frosting, raspberries
and lemon meringue drizzle.
This cake was for my dad’s birthday. I asked him what type
of cake he wanted and he told me lemon raspberry. He also said, “If you’re
going to spend time on it don’t make it extra fancy make it extra tasty!” So
that is what I did. I have to tell you this was the best lemon cake I have ever
tasted. So this set in motion my need to prefect some delicious flavors!
Next up is my “Chocolate Delight” cup cakes
This is a triple chocolate cake with a gooie chocolate filling topped with a sweet butter cream and dusted with powdered sugar. The gooie filling I found on the Wilton website and its called chocolate cake filling. I did make some every slight changes but the original recipe would have been perfect as well.
This is the “Bean Lovin Caramel”
I LOVE caramel. I found this recipe for the cake http://thebakerbecky.blogspot.com/2012/08/vanilla-bean-cupcake-with-caramel.html
I also used her suggestion for the caramel sauce the first time around. The second
time around I made some adjustments to the caramel. I wanted more of a caramel
that will soak into the cake instead of stay as a “glob” in the middle. But the
glob tasted good too! I topped it with a sweet butter cream made with real
vanilla and a caramel drizzle.
Here is another great recipe that I have found. This is for Cherry-Almond
Vanilla Cupcakes
I made this and they were supper good. The frosting was to
die for! I would skip putting the cherries in the center though. They floated
to the bottom and did not keep well after the first day. I made these before I started
blogging so there are no pictures from me. Sorry!
